how do i find sources that cite my competitors but not me?

Use the **Gaps** tab in the Sources view on the Citations page. It surfaces the domains where your competitors are cited and you are not, which is the cleanest definition of where you should be. Those gaps are usually the shortest path to a higher score.
How to narrow it to high-leverage targets
- Open Citations and stay in the default **Sources** view, which groups citations by domain rather than raw URL.
- Switch to the **Gaps** tab to see only the domains winning for competitors but missing you.
- Stack a source-type filter like **Earned media** or **Review** on top, since those carry the most lift in most categories.
Why source type matters
Trakkr tags every cited domain into one of eight types (owned, competition, earned media, review, social, institution, PR wire, other). Models weight them differently, and so should you:
- **Earned media and institutional** citations carry the most lift.
- **Reviews** (G2, Capterra, Wirecutter) are the workhorse for product-led categories.
- **PR wire** is the lowest-leverage type and often just noise.
Click any domain to open its Source Profile and see the exact pages, prompts, and sentiment behind it.
