which AI engines actually give citation data?

Three surfaces return sources alongside their answers, and Trakkr captures all three: ChatGPT Search, Google AI Overviews, and Perplexity. The other models influence your visibility but do not show their work, so they do not appear on the Citations page.
| Surface | What it returns | |---------|-----------------| | ChatGPT Search | The URLs OpenAI's web-search answers cite as sources | | Google AI Overviews | The reference pages Google attaches to AI Overview answers | | Perplexity | Every URL in Perplexity's citation list, in order |
Why the others are missing
Claude, stock ChatGPT without web search, and Gemini in pure-LLM mode answer from training data. They can name you, but they do not cite a source list, so there is nothing to capture there.
A common, real pattern
Each citation carries the platform that returned it, so you can filter by AI provider. "Strong on Perplexity, invisible on ChatGPT Search" is a normal split and a useful diagnosis: it tells you which surface to go work on first.
