My Google Sheets auto-sync stopped triggering automatically, but "Sync now" still works. Why?

Updated June 30, 2026 · Reviewed by [email protected]

Automatic sync and a manual "Sync now" both depend on the same underlying Google connection, but automatic sync is more likely to surface an expired or revoked link first, since it runs unattended. The most common cause is that the connected Google account's access token expired or the sheet's sharing permissions changed, which Trakkr reports as the connection needing to be reconnected.

Check the integration status on the sync settings page: if it shows an authorization or access error, re-share the spreadsheet with Trakkr's service account (or fully reconnect the Google account) and automatic sync should resume on its normal schedule.
