Analysis
I have all the evidence I need. Let me write the audit.
Rise & Fall (riseandfall.co) — AI-Visibility Audit
The live site is entirely invisible to every AI crawler and search engine: Cloudflare's JS challenge wall blocks all HTTP requests — GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Applebot-Extended, Bytespider, and even a standard browser — returning a 403 "Verifying your connection..." page with zero real content, zero schema, and zero internal links.
Crawler Access
Every AI bot tested returns 403 with ~8.8KB of Cloudflare challenge HTML — no robots.txt rules exist because the challenge fires before any server-side routing. The robots.txt and llms.txt endpoints also 403. The DNS points to 23.227.38.65 (Shopify's infrastructure), and response headers confirm Cloudflare as the edge proxy with cf-mitigated and cf-ray headers. The site runs on Shopify (Google MX, Klaviyo verification TXT, Mailgun SPF) but the Cloudflare "Under Attack" / JS challenge mode is engaged at the edge, meaning no crawler — AI or otherwise — can reach the Shopify origin. The sitemap is equally inaccessible.
Cold-Knowledge Gap
A frontier LLM queried cold about riseandfall.co reports zero verifiable knowledge — it cannot confirm what the brand does, who it serves, or any products. This is a total knowledge vacuum. The actual site (visible only via Wayback Machine) is a B Corp-certified luxury DTC brand selling cashmere, organic cotton bedding, merino wool, and mulberry silk womenswear/menswear/homeware at "up to 80% less" by partnering directly with luxury manufacturers. The homepage carries press mentions from Vogue, The Times, GQ, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Esquire, and The Guardian, plus "Over 19,000 5-star reviews" and a Trustpilot "Rated Excellent, 4.7/5" badge. None of this press, social proof, or product positioning reaches AI models because the live site is a Cloudflare wall.
Schema Posture
The archived homepage contains a single Organization JSON-LD block with name, URL, and social sameAs links (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn). No Product, WebSite, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage, or ItemList schemas are present despite the site being an ecommerce store with hundreds of products, category pages, and a FAQ section. The 2023 archive had zero JSON-LD at all — the 2025 archive added the Organization block, but product-level schema is entirely absent.
External Signals
Despite the brand claiming press coverage from major UK publications and 19,000+ reviews, web search returns zero indexed results for riseandfall.co, the brand name, or any combination of its products. The domain has no Google search presence whatsoever. The Wayback Machine shows the site has existed since at least December 2023 with a fully functional Shopify store, but the Cloudflare challenge appears to have been enabled at some point after February 2025 (the most recent archive snapshot), effectively de-indexing the entire domain.
Findings
Cloudflare JS challenge wall blocks all AI crawlers and search engines High
Every AI bot tested (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, Applebot-Extended, Bytespider) and even a standard browser receive a 403 response with ~8.8KB of Cloudflare challenge HTML. No real content is served to any crawler.
What to change: Disable Cloudflare's JS challenge mode for known AI bot user agents, or configure a bypass rule to allow GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and other AI crawlers through to the Shopify origin.
Robots.txt and llms.txt endpoints return 403 High
The robots.txt and llms.txt endpoints are blocked by the Cloudflare challenge, returning 403. No crawler directives or AI-specific instructions are available.
What to change: Ensure robots.txt and llms.txt are served without Cloudflare challenge, and include directives to allow AI crawlers.
Sitemap is blocked by Cloudflare challenge High
The sitemap endpoint returns 403, preventing search engines and AI crawlers from discovering the site's URL structure.
What to change: Serve the sitemap without Cloudflare challenge and ensure it lists all product and category URLs.
Frontier LLMs have zero knowledge of the brand High
A cold query about riseandfall.co returns no verifiable information. The brand's existence, products, and press coverage are unknown to AI models.
What to change: Remove the Cloudflare challenge to allow AI crawlers to index the site, and consider submitting the site to AI training data sources.
Domain has zero indexed pages in web search High
Multiple web searches for the domain, brand name, and product terms return zero results. The site is completely de-indexed.
What to change: Remove the Cloudflare challenge to allow Googlebot and other search crawlers to index the site.
No Product, WebSite, or BreadcrumbList schema on ecommerce site Medium
The archived homepage contains only an Organization JSON-LD block. No Product, WebSite, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage, or ItemList schemas are present, despite the site being an ecommerce store with hundreds of products.
What to change: Add Product schema to all product pages, WebSite schema to the homepage, and BreadcrumbList to category pages.
FAQ section lacks FAQPage schema Low
The site has a FAQ section but no FAQPage structured data, missing an opportunity for rich results in AI and search.
What to change: Add FAQPage schema to the FAQ page.
No schema for reviews or aggregate ratings Medium
Despite claiming 'Over 19,000 5-star reviews' and a Trustpilot badge, no Review or AggregateRating schema is present on the homepage.
What to change: Add AggregateRating schema to the homepage and product pages to surface review data in AI responses.
Press mentions not marked up with schema Low
The homepage lists press logos from Vogue, The Times, GQ, etc., but these are not marked up with schema, reducing their visibility to AI models.
What to change: Use schema.org/Review or schema.org/CreativeWork to mark up press mentions.
No external backlinks or social signals found Medium
Web searches for the brand's social media profiles and backlinks return zero results, indicating no external signals are reaching AI crawlers.
What to change: Build backlinks from reputable sites and ensure social media profiles are linked and indexed.
